ANTM All-Stars…It’s Baaack!

14 Sep

Last night, America’s Next Top Model All-Stars, Cycle 17, premiered and for the first time in at least three cycles, I watched it.

Thank goodness for the ANTM makeover, because it was really a sigh, a super sigh. However, I was excited to see the All-Stars. I got to see  some of my faves (to love and hate) like:Bianca (9), Lisa (5), Bre (5), Sheena (11), Allison (12), Camille (2). Where was Jade? We needed more ignorance.

I was really happy to see Camille again, not because she was one of my favorites, but I’m always rooting for the Caribbean girl, not sorry. Unfortunately, the girl is boring, its like watching paint dry. BUT, her body is supa sick. Step it up!

Wrap up: I hate Shannon. Nicki Minaj’s butt was ridiculous, in a bad way. I hate Nigel’s hair. There were better folks to send home. Bre, grow your hair back, girl.I will be watching

Are you rooting for Camille or is the Caribbean connection not enough?

Who Says You Can’t Wear White After Labor Day?!?

Who Said You Can't Wear White After Labor Day...

The answer is, nobody who matters! White is a wonderful color, if you can keep it clean all day. Hopefully, it wasn’t your color selection for jumping up in Brooklyn for Labor Day…missed it, sigh.

White is as versatile as wearing all black, folks just feel they can hide in the black–with white you have no choice but to stand out. In my style board I tried to show a few different looks for Fall in colder areas and Fall in places where it is ES.  I love to find tons of ways to wear the same pieces. Since I live between two different countries, I have to make my wardrobe (and money) work for me.

The trick with white is to mix different shades, textures, shapes and fab accessories. It really gives the outfit flare and stops you from looking like a nurse (an admirable field ;)

So, what do you think of these monotone creations?

P.S.– Yes, I will wear fur, leather, human (if it’s properly treated) and mongoose (if they weren’t so damn fast) Sorry.

P.P.S– I also plan to wear my cat, Bijou, when she passes. She wouldn’t have it any other way… meow.

Claudette "C.P" Peters- Style Remix

Go, Claudette...

Claudette “C.P.” Peters is Antigua & Barbuda’s Soca Darling. Every year she brings killer songs to jam to for Carnival and she doesn’t sing, she roars.  When she opens her mouth you take notice–you have no choice.

With her 2011 song, “I’m In Control”, she’s taking back her independence. I may be mistaken, but was this song a not so subtle jab at  Sleepy? Ouch.

With new management, music and direction–I think a change of style is also in order.

Our girl CP, has a rectangular shape (nothing wrong) and her goal should be to accentuate, accentuate, accentuate. Along with most rectangular ladies, she doesn’t have a highly defined waist. That’s not a problem, because a waist (along with everything else) can be created…smoke a mirrors, ladies. Luckily she has amazing legs and should showcase them whenever possible.

First, I must say, I don’t like my artists to be “normal”. Yes, it is terrible, but I want my stars to stands out. When I see you, whether on the street or stage, I want to see you looking fantastic. Yeah, yeah, its a lot to ask from them, but is it really? I see it as part of their job description…sorry.  I want to love & hate you at the same time, that’s the key to staying on-top. Beyonce has this, I want to gut-punch her and sniff her hair all at the same time (don’t judge me).

Style #1: I love this look. This is what I would want to see her in if she were grocery shopping or out and about. Yeah, I know those are 6 inch heels, again, part of the job. Always wear heels.

Style #2,5,8: These are her drama, performance outfits. I want her to punch up the drama at Soca Monarch and all these big performances. Kill um, one time.

Style #3,6,7: These are her “day outfits”. This is when she is doing performances, but it’s too much to wear a top hat. These would be good for something like Splash Down, in NYC. For #7, I just couldn’t find the right top and I’m out of patience, but that can rock, day or night.

Style#4: Is the pièce de résistance! I love this dress, it is her Ice Princess look. This would be appropriate for an evening performance where it is black tie. I hosted the Independence Gala a while back and she performed. She was amazing, but I didn’t think her outfit was the best selection. This would work!

Hair & Makeup: I’m not in love with the orangish hair that she’s sporting right now, I don’t think it does anything for her. She is a beautiful girl, with eyes that sparkle–that’s what I want to see.

Sick!!!

This loc bob would be lovely for her round face. CP looks good with blond hair. If she did different shades of blond highlights, just framing the face, it would look amazing.

Love the color....

I like a clean face with a BOLD red lip for her.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT MY SUGGESTIONS, LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

Now that’s a performance and the costume screams Carnival!
